Custom Project #1 Infection Control Article Summaries

A manufacturer of sterilization and disinfection products needed to educate its sales force about important infection control and microbiological topics currently in the scientific literature. Ofstead's role was to conduct literature searches, identify relevant scientific articles, and summarize the scientific findings using language that was easily understandable to a non-scientific audience. Ofstead developed high-impact graphics to illustrate key concepts for the summaries and prepared extensive documentation for each summary to facilitate the client's regulatory process.

Custom Project #2 Development of Sales Education Materials

A medical device manufacturer wanted to develop a cohesive training program and educational materials for their newly expanded sales force. The company needed to quickly educate their sales team about their business and their new product lines. Ofstead's role was to collaborate on the development of an educational handbook pertaining to key concepts and issues related to the treatment of vascular diseases. Ofstead also served as the project manager for the final production of the educational materials.

Custom Project #3 Data Editing, Analysis, and Manuscript Development

A medical research organization completed design and data collection for two diabetes studies. Ofstead's role was to clean up, edit, and analyze the data in accordance with the study design. After reviewing the results with the client, manuscripts were drafted by Ofstead and published by the client.

Custom Project #4: Interactive Health Risk Appraisal

A healthcare web site sponsored by a cable television network wanted to offer interactive health risk assessments to healthcare consumers. Ofstead's role was to provide basic medical information for the targeted health conditions and design interactive health risk assessments, including scoring and report specifications.

Custom Project #5: Manuscript Development

A medical device manufacturer had recently completed a clinical trial for endovascular stents and wanted to support the investigators' development of a manuscript. Ofstead's role was to perform a scientific literature review regarding outcomes and complications for endovascular stents. Ofstead also collaborated with the FDA investigators to analyze clinical trial data and prepare a manuscript for publication regarding safety and outcomes.

Custom Project #6: Medication Adherence Program

A pharmaceutical company initiated a program to support patient adherence and increase satisfaction with pharmacy services. The company wanted to incorporate the most current research findings into the design of their products and services. Ofstead's role was to review medical, scientific, and regulatory publications for pertinent information and to report the findings in a variety of formats including: meta-analyses, web site content, articles for publication, CE courses for clinicians, and sales training materials.
